I have dedicated over a decade to practicing matrimonial and family law in New York City, exclusively representing clients in divorce, child custody, asset division, international parental kidnapping, prenuptial agreements, and other complex family law matters. From straightforward uncontested divorces to high-net-worth litigation involving multi-million dollar estates, I have successfully handled cases of all levels of complexity. With over 700 prenuptial agreements drafted and reviewed, I bring a wealth of experience to marital agreements, ensuring clients protect their financial future.

While I have seen nearly everything in family law, I remain excited by the ever-evolving legal landscape. My passion lies in staying ahead of new legal developments, using my expertise to give my clients a strategic advantage in their cases.

My journey to becoming a top-rated NYC divorce attorney started long before law school. I immigrated to the United States from the former Soviet Union (Ukraine) as a religious refugee, arriving in Brooklyn on January 19, 1989. My family of nine shared a one-bedroom apartment while my parents, grandparents, and extended family worked tirelessly to build a new life. Growing up in this environment instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and resilience—principles I bring into my legal practice.

I am deeply proud to be an American and believe strongly in justice, fairness, and opportunity. My upbringing gives me a unique perspective in my work—I don’t just see my clients as case files; I see real people with real struggles who need practical legal solutions.

I am a proud graduate of the NYC public school system and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning and Policy from CUNY Hunter College. While working full-time, I studied late into the night for the LSAT, driven by my passion for making a meaningful impact in people's lives. My wife and law partner, Elena, and I attended St. Thomas School of Law in Miami, where we continued our journey together.

In 2015, we launched the Law Offices of Mindin & Mindin, P.C., starting with a tiny office in Manhattan’s Financial District. Through relentless dedication, client-focused service, and a reputation for excellence, we have built one of New York City’s most recognized and highly ranked boutique matrimonial law firms.

As a father of two amazing children, I understand how child custody disputes impact families. Custody cases require empathy, strategic legal thinking, and a firm commitment to protecting the best interests of children, and I bring that perspective to every case I handle.

When I’m not fighting for my clients’ rights, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and kids, on the sidelines of youth soccer and baseball game, reading and continuously learning, passionately watching (and yelling at) Yankees games, enjoying everything that makes New York City the greatest place in the world.

Elena Mindin is a Civil Litigation and Family Law attorney serving New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island and Nassau/Suffolk Counties. Concentrating her experience in numerous areas of law including civil litigation, personal injury, consumer debt defense, Immigration, Family Law (Divorce and Child Custody/Visitation/Support/Domestic Violence) and Criminal Defense.

Mrs. Mindin works with the firm’s intake of new clients and litigation functions, including preparation and conducting trials, inquests and depositions, attending court conferences, oral arguments, hearings and mediations/arbitrations, preparation of pleadings, discovery and motions, and participating in settlement negotiations. Mrs. Mindin is a strong, firm and passionate advocate for families going through divorce and family proceedings. Mrs. Mindin also focuses her attention on other areas of practice throughout New Jersey and Florida where she is also licensed to practice.

Mrs. Mindin grew up between Israel, Brooklyn, and South Shore Long Island and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the City University of New York Brooklyn College, where she double majored in Psychology and Philosophy. Mrs. Mindin received her Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law located in Miami, Florida, where she was Secretary and Treasurer of the National Jewish Law Student Association.  Mrs. Mindin is admitted and in good standing to practice law in the States of New York, New Jersey and Florida.
